Common complaints we receive
Complaints during 2024‒25

What does the data show?
In 2024–25 there were 6,754 registered paramedics in New South Wales. During that period, we received 143 complaints about 118 registered paramedics. This represents 1.75% of all registered paramedics in NSW.
Most complaints related to offences, for example, assault, domestic violence and drink driving (31 complaints). This was followed by clinical care (24 complaints).
We look at complaint trends to help us see issues that may affect public safety. This supports our work to promote safe, high-quality care. Even though offences was the largest group, the overall rate of complaints remains low compared to the number of registered practitioners.
There were 1,422 registered students, and we received 9 complaints about them. Complaints about students are rare, but they do occur.
