Common complaints we receive
Complaints during 2024‒25

What does the data show?
There were 9,204 registered occupational therapists in NSW in 2024–25. During that period, we received 57 complaints about 51 registered occupational therapists. This represents 0.55% of registered NSW practitioners.
Most complaints in the 2024–25 reporting year were about clinical care (16 complaints), followed by complaints about communication (9 complaints).
These patterns are similar to previous years.
We look at complaint trends to help us see issues that may affect public safety. This supports our work to promote safe, high-quality care. Even though clinical care issues were the largest group, the overall rate of complaints remains low compared to the number of registered practitioners.
There were 3,213 registered students and we received 1 complaint about them. Complaints about students are rare, but they do occur.
