Education and research
Who can apply
You can apply for a grant if you are:
a registered dental practitioner (all divisions), whose principal place of practice is in NSW
a registered student (all divisions) training in NSW.
We offer grants of up to $20,000 per application, with a two-year maximum duration. We also award smaller grants of shorter duration.
You must conduct your research/education project in NSW, and it must relate to a subject that benefits NSW practitioners and students.
We award grants to individuals, groups or institutions.
In group applications, the chief investigator (the person leading the project) must be registered with a principal place of practice in NSW.
Co-investigators can be unregistered health practitioners, including from professions other than dentistry.
Individual chief investigators can’t be associated with concurrent Council grants.
How to apply
Our Research and education grants guidelines outline the criteria and application process.
To apply, you must complete and submit a research and education grants application form.
Funding applications are open from 1 February to 1 May each year. We will not consider late applications.
Once you submit your application you can’t change it, but you can withdraw and resubmit it before the closing date.
We sometimes open expressions of interest for specific projects outside of the annual grant round and we advertise those on our website when they arise.
