Online training
Every new starter at the HPCA is required to complete a number of mandatory online training modules. Completion of mandatory training helps maintain a safe and healthy working environment, and supports staff in meeting their obligations as employees of NSW Health.
All NSW Health staff must complete the core mandatory training modules and any additional training required for specific work responsibilities. Currently HPCA staff must complete six one off sessions. In addition, the Code of Conduct must be completed annually.
Training is available through the Health Education & Training Institute (HETI). Mandatory training has been standardised for NSW Health so you only have to do training that is mandatory for your role. However, HETI online also offers a broad range of free training modules as well as face-to-face sessions which can be included in your performance agreement as part of your professional development.
The mandatory training programs for all new starters are:
20 min |
Introduction to Work, Health and Safety |
10 - 30 min | Privacy Module 1 - Know Your Boundaries |
120 min |
Aboriginal Culture - Respecting the Difference |
15 - 30 min |
Violence Prevention and Management - Awareness |
15 - 30 min |
Violence Prevention and Management - Promoting Acceptable Behaviour in the Workplace |
15 - 30 min |
Hazardous Manual Tasks |
HPCA staff are also expected to complete a one-day face-to-face session on Aboriginal Culture.
