History of the Nurses Registration Board

The 'History of the Nurses Registration Board' was published in the late 1980s and chronicled the 19th century movement to introduce registration and focussed specifically on the Board from its establishment under the Nurses Registration Act 1924

The narrative finished in 1987 just as the legislation was changed to introduce List A and List B on the Register of Nurses and a similar division in the Roll of Nurses. A supplement was added to the history which outlined key events from June 1987 to 1998. The history can be viewed and downloaded from the link below.
