Case Studies

The Council manages complaints in relation to the performance, impairment (health) and professional conduct of nurses and midwives in NSW. These complaints are generally managed through the health (impairment), conduct or performance pathways. The Council's goal is to protect the public's safety, while imposing the minimum restrictions necessary on the practise of nurses and midwives.

Matters that are potentially disciplinary in nature may be referred to a Professional Standards Committee or the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Such cases are published on Austlii or NSW Caselaw.

Throughout the year, the Council publishes anonymous case studies of matters that have been managed by the Council.
